Babelbam!

Summer 2013, 1 Week | Prototype of a recreational lamp | by Jon Wirthner

Babelbam is a tower lamp consisting of flexible pieces that are held together by the tension of a hammers weight through cord. When the hammer falls down, the pieces jump apart, destroying the tower and switching off the light. To rebuild the tower, simply pull up the hammer and the asymmetric pieces will come back together – in one of 81 possible combinations of angle. This prototype is build without the actual light but proved to work in terms of blowing and rebuilding the tower effectively.
